This project purpose is the technological innovation by developing a methodology for cryopreservation of sea urchin (Echinometra lucunter) eggs and blastulas.
Testing different cryoprotective agents (CPA) to obtain their best concentration and combination, based on toxicity, for cryopreservation of eggs and blastulas that can be used in ecotoxicological tests;
Using the best CPA concentration and combination for developing a preliminary cryopreservation protocol;
Performing ecotoxicological tests using cryopreserved eggs and blastulas to develop and standardize a new ecotoxicological test protocol, thus innovating the existing process.
